I’m a pretty big collector of old brain atlases, among other vintage scientific printed material. In the summer of 2015 I finally got around to making my own brain atlas. Actually I decided to just focus on the hypothalamus, because that’s the area of the brain that my research focuses on, and frankly an atlas of the entire brain would have been too much work. I learned a lot about neuroanatomy during this project, and it was great fun designing a book page by page from the ground up.
I printed a few of these to give out to friends and collaborators, but for the most part this project was just for my own entertainment and edification.
